Design Festa (デザインフェスタ) is Tokyo’s biggest independent art event. Held twice yearly at Tokyo Big Sight, it features over 10,000 artists across 40,000 square meters of exhibition space. Unlike Comiket (focused on manga/doujin) or AnimeJapan (industry trade show), Design Festa is a free-for-all of creative expression.

- Tickets: ¥1,000 in advance, ¥1,200 at door. Two-day pass ¥1,800.
- Timing: The first day is busier. Sunday morning is the calmest browsing time.
- Cash: Most artists only take cash. There are ATMs but bring ¥10,000+ if you plan to buy.
- Bag: Bring one. You’ll accumulate flyers, stickers, and small purchases.
